We are really looking forward to starting the new year!
We are really looking forward to working with our new classes and getting to know the children. It will great to hear about their summer holidays - and they will have the chance to share their experiences with us in their new journals.
As this is the children's first week in Key Stage 1, we will be doing lots of activities to help them settle into their new classrooms and routines. We will help the children develop their confidence as they start their journey in Key Stage 1.
In our maths lessons this week we will be practising counting and recognition of numerals as well as ordering numbers.
In English lessons we will be practising writing our names using careful letter formation. We will also be learning all about labels and making our own labels for our classrooms, not forgetting revisiting and practising all of the phonemes the children learnt in Red Class.
In the afternoons we will be exploring our classrooms and getting to know where everything is kept. We will also be using our creative skills to make a star in readiness for our weekly 'Star of the Week' celebrations.
We are really looking forward to seeing you all on Wednesday.
