We are looking forward to starting new topics this term.
Welcome back! We hope that you have enjoyed the half-term break and are looking forward to returning this week.
In literacy we will be starting work on the genre 'recounts' starting with the text, 'Where's My Teddy' by Jez Alborough. We will be learning how to write a recount using the past tense. Our grammar this week will be looking at proper nouns and using capital letters at the start of names. As always, we will be practising composing and writing sentences, using a capital letter to start and a full stop at the end.
In our maths lessons we will be looking at subtraction and practising using number lines and 10's frames to support our calculations.
Our geography topic this term is 'Beyond Tunstall' and we will be learning about the four countries of the United Kingdom and their capital cities.
In Design Technology our focus will be on 'flying kites'.
As always, we have put plenty of books on the Bug Club website. This is a super resource to support your child's reading and phonics. If you find a problem accessing the website, please let your child's class teacher know so that it can be rectified.
We are all looking forward to seeing you on Monday and starting the new term.
Mrs Scargill, Mrs Jenkins, Mrs Buchanan, Mrs Heather and Miss Kirkwood.
