Week beginning Monday 5th February 2018
The end of yet another term is upon us boooooooo, halfway through Year 3 already!
This week starts off with our E-Safety day on Monday. The children will be doing activities all day with Mr McRae linked to keeping safe online. Then, at 2.45pm, they will join forces with Blue Class and present an assembly to parents. You will be able to take the children (and siblings) home once the assembly has finished.
The rest of the week is fairly 'normal'! Mr McRae will increase his teaching to 70% of the timetable so will be teaching for Maths and English. He has had to wrestle English off me as I love our Krindlekrax topic, the children are so enthusiastic to hear what happens next about Krindlekrax! We are looking at story sequencing, subordinate clauses and creating an alternative ending to the story by the end of the week.
Maths continues with time by looking at 5 minute intervals to and past the hour.
Science continues our light topic by looking at reflections, again this will be taught by Mr McRae. Then the second half of Science is Science WOW, where the whole school will be taking part in exciting experiments that will give the children that 'wow, how did that happen' feeling!
Our PE will be a little hit and miss this week as there is an assembly to parents for different year groups each day in the hall so we will have to try and get outside for both PE lessons. Please make sure that trainers are always in school as children have been wearing them home after after school clubs and not returning them.
We will finish our geography topic of volcanoes on Thursday by creating a fact file for display from all they have learnt and using the internet (safely!) to find extra research and facts to include.
I hope you all have a fantastic half-term!
