Week beginning 8th January
We made a great start last week with our English learning using The Hole by Oyvind Torseter. We have really needed to use our imagination and look for clues to help build up the story and this week we will be rewriting the story so far, compiling a book review and start to plan our own story based around the events in this story. Our grammar learning will look at categorising words and there will still be time for some comprehension and spellings.
Our fractions learning in maths started last week by counting in fractions and this week we will look at fractions of amounts and the relationship between fractions and decimals.
New topics will start in other subjects including using atlases to locate rivers in geography and looking at how particles make up solids, liquids and gases.
Please make sure that your child has everything they need for a day at school, including coats, reading and contact books and PE kits.
Despite several reminders, there were children on Friday who did not have a PE kit for our lesson. May we remind you again that Tuesday is our outside PE lesson, so please ensure you child has the appropriate warm clothing, while Friday is our indoor session. This week is the final swimming session for the current group, letters will go out to those involved in the next group shortly.
