Week beginning 20th November
That was the last Christmas free week this term, and a successful one it was too.
All the children had a good attempt at cutting, slicing and spreading in our DT learning, listening carefully before practising their skills, and no accidents. Once my computer and iPad resolve their differences and start talking to each other again, there will be some new photos in our gallery showing the results. Home learning this week is based on this topic, where the children are researching lunchtime habits of family members. This will be analysed by the children and taken into consideration, ready for designing and making a sandwich for you to sample.
English this week continues on the theme of fables, where we look at building more complex sentences and at morals in a little more depth. Maths continues with multiplication and division and the introduction of a weekly multiplication challenge has certainly brought a competitive edge to Friday mornings.
Returning to the aforementioned C word, Thursday will involve practicing for A Choral Christmas in our music lessons, balanced with practising during assembly time for the Carol Service at the church. On Friday, we are to combine with Green Class for a morning of making tags for the Christmas Gift Room and preparing our exhibit for the Christmas Tree festival, a little teaser for which will be found in the gallery, when I can get the iPad to communicate with this computer.
I think that details of the forthcoming parents consultation meetings were sent out last week, so please remember to sign up.
Congratulations to Jason, who received his invitation to Golden Club and to Prize, who received our behaviour award last week.
