Week beginning 2nd October
Our Pompeii adventure stories were completed last week with some very impressive results, so well done to everyone. If you wish to hear for yourself, I’m sure your child would be happy to read them to you, just find me straight after school on Monday or Thursday for your own personal story time!
Saturday saw a working party at school. Thanks to that, we now have some weather proofed sheds and benches, a new hedge and fencing surrounding an area with raised planters and some very well built raised ponds, if I say so myself.
This week, our English learning moves onto the topic of Myths, where we will be using The Orchard Book of Roman Myths by Geraldine McCaughrean as a basis for our learning. It’s all change in maths too, as we move onto addition and subtraction. Our science is still based on teeth, with a focus of how to keep them healthy, while in history we investigate who Boudicca was from different points of view.
A few extras crop up this week as it is school photos on Wednesday, on Thursday we have a racism awareness workshop and I did hear a rumour that Walk on Wednesday resumes this week.
Thank you very much to Max, Harry, Chloe, Mia, Sri and Sebastian who all tried Mathletics at home last week. This is an excellent resource for improving calculation skills, so please spend some time investigating the site.
Finally, congratulations to Olivia who received our behaviour award last week.
