Week beginning Monday 2nd October 2017
Thank you for the donation of buttons for our headdresses that we will start constructing. We are still very low on 'bits' to add to the headdresses as the children have some wild and wacky ideas. If your child has specifically said they need something for their headdress that may not be deemed standard school stock then please have a rummage and see what you can find. Thank you.
You may have noticed your child bought their spellings home today instead of Monday for most groups. I thought the extra couple of days may ease the stress of crazily trying to learn them over the school week.
English this week sees the end of traditional tales as the children will write their independent tale for assessment. We then move on to Information texts.
Maths leaves column addition behind and moves on to column subtraction with regrouping and estimating!
Science continues on our magnets and forces as we look at making a magnetic compass involving a lot of water in the classroom, yikes!
The children seem to really enjoy their French lesson. I think they like having a different teacher too!
We have had a few incidents of poor behaviour on the playground. The children are well aware of the rules of the class and the school. Please could you just remind your children of the expectations so that we do not have any more incidents and subsequently children having to spend their lunch time at the Head's office.
Congratulations to Sophie H who was our pupil of the week. Well done to Alana who won the school merit award for always showing good behaviour and trying really hard this week. Green table were our table winners again and pen licenses went to Claudia, Hollie and Jessica S with Sadie and Lucy closely behind being Handwriting Heroes this week.
