Week beginning 25th September
The children have worked really hard with their adventure stories, and this week we will be editing them, ready for a final copy of the story, probably by the middle of the week. Our other English lessons this week will focus on reading and comprehension. We reach the final week of place value in maths with some rounding, negative numbers and a little more practice on counting on before an end of unit assessment on Friday.
We continue with the digestive system in science, specifically looking at the names and the jobs of different teeth and why an animal’s diet is directly related to the type of teeth they have. History moves on to The Celts while in RE, we are looking at the main beliefs of Judaism, namely, The Ten Commandments.
On Saturday, it’s the school working party, so if you are available to join us, your help would be greatly appreciated. Let the office know your particular area of expertise!
Mathletics is up and running. I have set some place value tasks for the children and also adjusted the level of questions on Live Mathletics. Could you please make sure the login details you child has been given works and check you can access all the features of this valuable resource.
Along with all the positive happenings in class, friendship issues have raised their head this week. We do have very regular discussion sessions with the children on such things, and strategies given to overcome such unpleasantness. I believe it reasonable to ask that we move on from incidents in previous classes, so that we can focus on the progress we are going to make together in Blue Class.
Congratulations to Jack who was awarded our behaviour award last week.
