We have reached the end of another term. Thank you for all your support this term with phonics, reading, maths, homework, may day and everything else you do to support your children.
We are back to school on Monday 5th June for our last term of the year! Next term our topic is 'Beside the Sea'.
On the first week back we will be having another KS1 WOW day on Thursday 8th June where we will be taking part in seaside activities. Normal school uniform for this day please.
Second week back will be the Phonics Screening. Over the week your child will be asked to do some phonics with Mrs Scargill and this will be their check. It is very relaxed and is administered on a 1:1 basis. If any of you have any questions about the check please ask your class teacher.
We also have our School trip to Chatham Historic Dockyard and Sports Day to look forwards to this term. More details to follow closer to the time.
In Maths this term we will be recapping all of our previous learning to ensure that we are ready for Year 2. We will also be learning about weights and capacity.
English this term will be looking at some more Fantasy Story writing and Instructions.
In Science we will be revisiting all the topics learnt this year: animals, plants, weather, materials and humans.
In DT we will be learning about healthy eating and be turning ourselves into TV chefs as part of ICT.
In PE we will be practising our skills for Sports Day and in History we will be learning all about the history of the seaside holiday. Perhaps over half term you could take advantage of the nice weather and pop to the beach for some research!
Have a safe and fun half term and we will see you all in a week.
