Week beginning 15th May
We look forward to welcoming you to the class on either Tuesday, which is our geography time, or Wednesday, which will be maths. I think that the times are the same as in February, but you will be ‘signing in’ in our small hall and then coming up to the class for 2.30pm to join in with our learning. We will ask you to disperse at about 3.15pm to allow us to complete our usual end of the day routines, before dismissing the children as usual at 3.30pm.
Friday is the PTA Film Event, and bookings can be made via their website. The PTA supports the school in many ways, their latest project is currently taking shape on the playground as we speak.
Meanwhile, in class, our English learning moves on to recounts, where we will be using Little Mouse’s Big Book of Fears by Emily Gravett as our inspiration, and hopefully end the term with a page of learning in the scrapbook style that Emily uses. Homework is to bring in a photograph and other scrapbook type items that match with the idea of a past fear. Maths is loosely based on shape this week, with lessons planned on symmetry, angles and co-ordinates.
We wrap up science with an end of unit assessment, which gives us a little time to start to plan a musical instrument to make next week. Please delve deeply into your recycling bin for any materials that you think may be useful for this project, wash them out and bring them in.
Finally, congratulations to Wonu, who received our behaviour award last week.
