Week beginning Monday 8th May 2017
A five day week, this will be a challenge! Dig deep Green Class :)
Monday starts with practising how to calculate change to end our week of working with money in Maths. Then for Tuesday onwards we will be working with angles, calculating their size, looking for them around the school and learning new vocabulary associated with angles and turns in positioning.
We continue with The Moon Man in English, it is a lovely book. The children have got some lovely work from it so far. On Monday they will be recording their news reports on ipads about the Moon Man landing on Earth!
Science continues looking at The Human Body. The children measured each others muscle reactions last week and this week we will be measuring the power of muscles. Always some interesting results with this investigation!
We missed The Ancient Greeks last Monday as it was a bank holiday, so this Monday we will catch up by looking at The Greek Gods.
The new spellings are going well with the children as they are practising the spelling rule more and using them in their own work. We are doing an extra session for early work each week to help them use and apply.
PE is continuing the May Dance practise and getting outdoors as much as possible as the weather is 'meant' to be more spring like!
The children were fantastic ambassadors for Tunstall on Wednesday during a very chilly trip to Detling, Mrs Tollervey was incredibly proud of them - well done Green Class.
Pupil of the week last week was Chester - fantastic work Chester! No marbles were collected for table of the week and Chloe won the behaviour award for a fantastic flute recital and for always having the smiliest of faces!
Behaviour award this week was to Charlie for being generally fantastic on the school trip - well done Charlie. Keep up the good work!
There are STILL some children who do not have PE kits in school. PE is a curriculum requirement and children should participate in 2 hours a week, for this they obviously need their kit in school.
Please could you send newspapers in to make our Greek vases. Thank you.
