Week beginning Monday 1st May 2017
Don't forget the bank holiday this week, no Monday blues for any of us this week! We just need the sunshine and warmth to make it perfect.
So, with a 4 day week, we jump straight into Money in Maths! This topic is notoriously tricky for some children as they get completely confused when we throw in a decimal point. However, using plastic coins as a visual clue, and practising converting £ and p into p to add and subtract it does make their learning of money a little easier.
We continue with The Moon Man in English which is such a lovely book and we have got some wonderful vocabulary out of them so far with using this book.
PE continues with the May Day dance, not too long until you need to dust off their flower sticks and prepare those posies!
The children really enjoyed learning some of the scientific names of bones in Science and we continue to have practical science lessons so we can really understand about the human skeleton!.
Don't forget the Detling Trip and ensure all your signed permission slips have been sent in to school.
Congratulations to Ben and Sri Hari who were our joint pupil of the week, BFGs were our table winners and Esther won the kindness award.
