Week beginning 30/01/17.

Life on the (English lessons) island is about to become less lonely as a group of classmates will be found outside of the bay at low tide. This will lead to a bit of formulating arguments, supported by reasoning, as to whether the group should try to make the best of the situation or attempt to effect an escape. In turn this will lead to the identification of certain aspects of island life which will need some attention if the group are going to be successful in their endeavour - hence the drawing up of rules and rotas. Maths will be back to full on fractions this week - simplification, addition, subtraction and multiplication and some finding fractions of amounts. In History, we will start investigating different types of Victorian houses inhabited by different classes of Victorians and Terragen will make its first appearance in the "computing as Art" slot on Tuesday afternoon. I'm afraid I'm full of a heavy cold, so avoiding me could be a good plan...a good job Parents' Evenings are still a few weeks away...
