Week beginning 28th November
We wave goodbye to our fables learning and say hello to stories in familiar settings for our English learning, using the Horrid Henry series of books by Francesca Simon as a starting point. This week we look at both characters and settings, using the appropriate descriptions. In maths, I think our division learning needs a few more days to really embed the methods of calculation, before we move onto decimals and fractions.
We do, as a school, still subscribe to Mathletics, but only have about 4 or 5 ‘regulars’. Please encourage your children to use this great way to practice what we are learning in class. To misquote - if you don’t use it, you may lose it.
Our DT learning is reaching the time where the children are designing their savoury sandwich, with making soon to follow, so keep an eye out for your invitation to (a late) lunch on 8th December.
I have confirmed, via the contact book, your parents consultation times for Wednesday and Thursday, and look forward to seeing you then.
Our preparations for Christmas continue. Our tree for the festival is made and you are most welcome to view this at the church from Thursday to Sunday. We have also started our cards and tags for Secrets Room, which is Friday.
Finally, congratulations to Sophie, who received our behaviour award last week.
