This week in Red Class 'The Jolly Postman' has arrived and we continue with our Christmas preparations!

Firstly, a very big 'thank you!' for all of the money brought into school for Pudsey! We all managed to completely cover Pudsey with coins! We also all enjoyed a very spotty day on Friday!

This week we will be reading the story of 'The Jolly Postman' and the letters he delivers on his round. We will then make our own maps of the Postman's route to help him through his work and stop him from getting lost. Later in the week we will start to think about writing our own letters to the Postman himself!

In Numeracy we will move on to start exploring and investigating 3D shapes. We will start to explore the properties of these shapes practically and then investigate them to find out what they can do- do they roll or can we build with them? We may also have a game of shape bingo along the way!

In Phonics we will introduce the last of our Phase 2 phonemes- l,ll and ss. We will also continue to practise reading and writing the sounds we have learnt so far in Red Class.

Nativity rehearsals are now in full swing! We have already begun to learn a lot of the songs and will continue with these this week.

We will also be starting work to create our Red Class Christmas Tree for Tunstall Church's Christmas Tree Festival. We hope to have photos to follow when our work is complete! Be assured there will be plenty of glitter and sparkle involved!

We look forward to a busy week ahead!
